Our relationship with nature has historically been one of imbalance and overuse.  Nearly every step in human history has unfortunately been accompanied by a leap in environmental degradation.  At first, humans were incredibly in-tune with their surroundings.  Nomadic hunter-gatherer tribes used to roam the lands, following the ebb and flow of the seasons.  These tribes had a measurable impact on the environment, but their influence was relatively manageable due to their population size.  With advancements in technology and agriculture though, humans began to find more efficient ways of sustaining themselves.  These advancements allowed for more permanent settlements, which led to rapid population growth and a distancing from nature.

This imbalance has potentially caused a lot of immeasurable and irreparable damage, which needs an emergency course correction.

The objective of this challenge is to inform this crucial balance between man and nature. The brief/theme of the challenge to make a picture story using not more than 8 images – along with a concept note.

  1. Submit a set of 8 (Max) pictures or less to      deliver a photo story.

  2. Each image should be less than 10mb and      2800px x 3500px size, portrait or landscape.

  3. Title and subtitle of the project on the project page.

  4. A concept notes of about 250 words in the      journal section.

  5. Both items in      sync with the theme of streets.

The entries will be judged by an international jury of the competition on the following criteria:

Concept/Narrative: Quality of thought and intent in the pre-design phase.

Composition: Quality of elements and story delivery.

Photography Merit: The final outtake and photography skills.

The judging panel can also add other criteria based on their internal discussions - which will be in line with the problem statement. Participants are advised to fulfill the above-given criteria first in their design. Names of the jury panel will be announced soon.
