The Museum of Inclusivity

Raj Pillai
India

Museums enable people to explore collections for inspiration, learning and enjoyment. Museums are much more than repositories of cultural relics to be preserved for the future. The museum experience is a multi-layered journey that is proprioceptive, sensory, aesthetic and social.
But SENSORY MUSEUMs are always about the aesthetics that pleases our senses.
What about the people deprived with senses?
Have you ever thought about it,
Have you ever been in their shoes...?
And these are the question that derived us in making

THE MUSEUM OF INCLUSIVITY

The practice or policy of providing equal access to opportunities and resources for people who might otherwise be excluded or marginalized,
But in this museum, this is going to be vice versa whereas the people are going to experience the deprivation of sense such as blindness, hearing impairment etc.
This experience emphasizes the interpretive or intellectual aspects of the experience and focuses on the visitor’s personal reflections, usually triggered by the spaces in the museum.

The spaces are like
EXPERIENCE THE DARK
SILENCE IS WHAT YOU EAR
VERTEX OF SOUND
LIGHT THAT GUIDES YOU
As you see the spaces are in such a way that the realization of the deprivation happens in a cyclic way.

We have chosen the site in Bangalore, as the city itself is a great stand out for inclusivity, it has people from all around the nation.

THE MUSEUM IS ETERNAL BECASE ITS NOT JUST A BUILDING THAT YOU SEE…... IT’S AN EXPERIENCE WHICH YOU CAN EXPLAIN BUT CAN’T FEEL UNLESS YOU EXPERIENCE IT.
