At the initiative of the municipal authorities, Norilsk Development Agency and Nornickel, an expert council was formed within the framework of the open international competition to develop an architectural and planning concept for renovation of Norilsk to 2035.
Responsibilities of this special collegial body include the review of bids from finalists, preparation of recommendations for the Jury, expert appraisal of the finalists’ entries and making proposals for distribution of prizes among the competition finalists.
The Expert Council includes representatives of the scientific community, administration of Norilsk, architects and urban planners, specialists in sustainable development, and special conditions of construction in northern regions.
The first meeting of the Expert Council will be held online on October 7, where 15 consortia and 12 individual applicants will be considered. According to results of the meeting, experts will prepare conclusions and recommendations that will be announced on October 19 at the first meeting of the competition Jury.
The International Competition was launched in July. Results will be summed up in March 2022.
