KNOW MORE ABOUT THE DESIGNERS:
Located on the top floor of an ancient farmhouse near Brescia, is the renovation of a 140sqm apartment. The entire project is influenced by the typical sloping shape of the building, through the improvement of prevailing structures and contemporary reinterpretation of the characteristic rural aspect.
The windowed original surface, distributed on four sides, becomes a decisive factor for the subdivision of the internal environment. This led the designers to organize all the interior spaces around a central core (where the master bedroom is placed), allowing practically the entire boundary in favor of a 360 degree view of the surrounding landscape. This result into a large open space that is adaptable to various living needs, where each element contributes to a vision of customizable and flexible space.
At the center of this situation, the living area is partially divided from the sleeping areas by the master bathroom, which leaves the side passages free. The more or less rigid boundary between the two areas of the house is outlines by this filter space. Here packet doors unite or divide the rooms and transform the very perception of the space.
A direct access from the stairwell and private elevator to the living room on the west-side, which is designed with comfortable sofas and a large dining area with open-plan kitchen, a guest toilet and a small storage room. The east-side consists of the sleeping area with double access to the master bathroom, with a shower overlooking the bedroom and a walk-in closet, lined with cabinets made to measure, which if needed can also be used as a guest room, with a pull-out bed.Enclosed by large windows, from both the areas the house opens onto the view of a porch. It accommodates a dining area which also serves as the entrance to the laundry.
